For years, I was just the “fixer,” stepping in to sort out problems for everyone else. But honestly, that felt kinda empty. The big shift – from just serving to actually guiding – got seriously tested when I had my own fight for health.
Back in 2020, I got hit with a diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis (MS). Navigating the healthcare system after that? Man, it was isolating. I felt straight-up unseen and unheard by most of the medical pros. That feeling of being on my own pushed me to become my own fiercest advocate.
Then came the moment that changed the game. A neurologist, keeping it real about the lack of info on Black folks with MS, looked at me and
said: “You are your own answer.” That hit me deep. It validated everything I felt inside, brought a wave of relief, a clear realization, and yeah, some vindication too.
Fighting for my physical health became this whole spiritual journey back to myself. Today, I’m standing here as a self-made sovereign. I took back ownership of my body, my story, my whole path. No room for playing the victim anymore. This real, lived experience – fighting for my own truth – that’s the foundation, the heartbeat, of The Divine Fix.
